Mission Statement
Manga Dojo helps empower students by providing them with the experience and knowledge necessary to begin their careers in art and storytelling. The workshop offers them guidance and support, with the best tools possible and access to a diverse knowledge base. We also do our best to foster a community of students that can freely exchange ideas and see the oppourtunities that are inherent within them.
Our goal with the workshop is to impart to students the concept of lifelong learning and to strive to improve their work. We also wish to provide students with an environment where they can feel free to experiment and test out their ideas and concepts. By giving them a failure-free zone to try out their work, students become encouraged to experiment, to be active in doing things, and to try and change their environment.
We also do our best to have students interact with the world by giving them concrete projects to pursue. By interacting with businesses and giving them hands-on knowledge on articulating their stories by putting them into print, students receive a better glimpse into how to make their work into reality. It changes the dynamic of the project from “this is fun” to “this is real”.
